Sterling Silver and Motor Agate Fordite Necklace #2262

Lapidary cut, multi-layered Motor Agate (Fordite) cabochon set in solid sterling silver. The salvaged and repurposed enamel material set in this piece began as a hunk of cured auto paint, derived from many layers of overspray that was created as a byproduct of the industrial process of spray painting cars!

This fordite piece is a beautiful, low domed Type 3 Motor Agate cabochon: Color on color layers with opaque and metallic layers.

This lovely cab has some organic channeling pockets on the face that are a natural formation made during it's creation. It is set in a cast sterling silver setting, with a fully closed-backed bezel, that has been given our signature mini-hammered finish.

The Chain: 20''(unisex), heavy 3mm sterling silver snake chain with capped ends and lobster clasp. This piece is on the heavier side, and would be nice for anyone who likes that.
