Sterling Silver and Motor Agate Fordite Necklace #1674

Lapidary cut, multi-layered Motor Agate (Fordite) cabochon set in sterling silver. The salvaged and repurposed material set in this piece began as a hunk of cured auto paint overspray that was harvested from a major auto plant many years ago.

This piece has a beautiful and rare Type 3 Motor Agate cabochon: Color on color layers with metallics. It also features a vary rare bit of pink visible near the top layers! Maybe that was a for a special Cadillac?

This lovely cab is set in a hand fabricated sterling silver bezel that has been given our signature mini-hammered finish, and oxidation on the bail and chain. The bail also features a sterling silver petal made by a unique process of water casting molten sterling, and a silver ball.
