This unique necklace features a lapidary cut, multi-layered Motor Agate (Fordite) cabochon set in sterling silver. The salvaged and repurposed material showcased in this piece began as a hunk of cured auto paint, derived from many layers of overspray that was created many years ago as a byproduct of the industrial process of spray painting cars!

More About It: This piece features a beautiful, flat cut, vintage Type 3 Motor Agate cabochon: Color on color layers. Time of collection of this material is known to be circa 1979-1981. Acquired from an original factory worker.

This lovely fordite cab has metallic and opaque colors in red, mint green, avocado, navy blue, white, black, tan, gold and silver.  It is set in a heavy, hand-fabricated sterling silver, open-backed bezel that has been given our signature mini-hammered finish.

This necklace chain is a 20" sterling silver round box chain, with lobster clasp. It is a popular length and size to be versatile as a unisex piece.
