Sterling Silver and Motor Agate Fordite Necklace #2279

Lapidary cut, multi-layered Motor Agate (Fordite) cabochon set in sterling silver. The salvaged and repurposed material set in this piece began as a hunk of cured auto paint overspray that was harvested from a major auto plant many years ago.

This piece has a beautiful and rare, vintage Type 3 Motor Agate cabochon: Color on color layers with metallics. Color tones of this piece are vibrant, with pops of orange, red, sky blue, and teal blue. Cool 70's vibe!

This lovely cab is set in a scalloped edge, hand fabricated and tooled sterling silver setting that has been given our signature mini-hammered finish. This piece has a clear resin cap, to protect it's delicate vintage surface. Open bezel back.
