Sterling Silver and Motor Agate Fordite Necklace #2252

Lapidary cut, multi-layered Motor Agate (Fordite) cabochon set in sterling silver. The salvaged and repurposed material set in this piece began as a hunk of cured auto paint, derived from many layers of overspray that was created as a byproduct of the industrial process of spray painting cars!

This piece is a beautiful, medium-domed Type 2 Motor Agate cabochon: limited color on color layers, with opaques and metallics.

This lovely shield shaped cab has a contoured polish in the center, to create an orbital pattern, and is otherwise domed to accentuate its stripes in red, white, blue, silver, and beige. It is set in a hand-fabricated sterling silver, open-backed bezel, that has been given our signature mini-hammered finish.

Chain: 20", 1.6mm sterling silver snake chain with lobster clasp.
