Sterling Silver and Motor Agate Fordite Necklace #2233

This unique necklace features a lapidary cut, multi-layered Motor Agate (Fordite) cabochon set in sterling silver. The salvaged and repurposed material showcased in this piece began as a hunk of cured auto paint, derived from many layers of overspray that was created as a byproduct of the industrial process of spray painting cars!

More About It: This piece features a beautiful, medium domed, Type 1 Motor Agate cabochon: Color on color layers with opaque white/grey primer layers in between. 

This lovely fordite cab has mostly all metallic colors in reds, blues, black, white, yellow, lime green, and silver.  It is set in a hand-fabricated sterling silver open-backed bezel that has been given our signature mini-hammered finish. There is additional hand textured details applied to the bail.

This necklace chain is a 20" sterling silver snake chain, with standard lobster clasp.
