Sterling Silver Apprentice Fordite Necklace #2272

Sorry, This Item Has Been Sold

Jewelry student cut, multi-layered Motor Agate (Fordite) cabochon set in sterling silver. The salvaged and repurposed material set in this piece began as a hunk of cured auto paint, derived from many layers of overspray that was created as a byproduct of the industrial process of spray painting cars!

This piece is a beautiful, low-domed Type 1 Motor Agate cabochon: Color on color layers, with primer layers and metallic pools- unique!

This is a student piece that is not perfect but still pretty cool! It is set in a hand-fabricated sterling silver, open-backed bezel, that has been given our signature mini-hammered finish. The cab itself has a tiny hairline fracture at the top of the pear peak that has been stabilized. Not visible with the naked eye.

20" sterling silver snake chain with lobster clasp.

Pendant dimensions from top of bail: . Hand signed on reverse.
